SHELBY URBAN

I was born and raised in Kansas cheering on that rock chalk Jayhawks basketball. I’ve been through all the trends, I started my beauty career in 2010 and spent the first 7 years in Lawrence Kansas City giving chunky highlights, big blowouts, and curled hair. I followed my heart in 2017 and moved to California where I really discovered my curly knowledge and learned lived in looks/low maintenance hair. When you visit me it’s not only a hair experience but it’s also a special moment for you to feel confident in a safe environment. I love to create a personalized cut and construct the correct shape for each unique set of curls or textures. I strongly believe in educating my clients so they know exactly how to care for their hair every day. Education for me is a yearly goal of mine to keep up on trends, but also keep me at my best level to give you your best hair ever!

When I’m not working hard at hair I’m off with my fiance exploring the world in our camper van. We are big adventure seekers music lovers and lovers of food. On my own time you can find me in a yoga class, shopping at antique malls, thrift stores, flea markets, or giving love to my plant babies.

I used to visit Tennessee to see family and attend the Bonnaroo festival in June during my 20s. I fell in love with the beauty and kindness here. I’m excited to become a Tennessee volunteer and soak up that football game day along with lake and mountain life!
